Scraping Off the Rust
It's a funny transition one's golf game can go through at this time of year with just a few weeks play. Three weeks ago I felt like a bum who had to get lucky to hit good shots. Now I feel like I can hit any shot required, and the shots around the green went from scary to mundane. I wasn't sure if I was going to get any game back (a thought that crosses many of our minds, I'm sure), but now I know I'll be able to pull off shots.
I'm just trying to let everyone know that hope is never lost. I've found this out pretty much every spring, yet it's never easy to have the full belief when you're coming back.
Does anyone actually watch the halftime show?

Talent only goes to sleep. You just have to wake it up every now and then. Glad to see its coming back. Shake off the cobwebs. Tom Petty sucks, what is he 80 now. The game was actually better than the commercials for once.

I looked it up. Tom is 57. I can't believe it. I like the old dude.
Ha! I wasn't trying to say Petty sucks or anything! 80 and 57 (I thought he was older, but I'm just a young buck).
But isn't the halftime show meant to gather the non sports fans in? For the real fans, it's time to go to the bathroom. Watching commercials is almost as bad.
Thanks fellas. Looking forward to a good summer.

I watch halftime shows that don't suck. Tom Petty didn't suck. Conversely, that Simpson chick at the USC/OK Orange Bowl a few years ago SUCKED HORRIBLY! Now, if Tom Petty had strutted around on the stage, pretending he's young and sexy (like Great-Grandpa Jagger does), that would have sucked.
Here's the worst kind of halftime show, though: Bowl games that put 2,000 talentless dancing kids on the field instead of the representative marching bands. The announcers always praise the kids for their two days of intense practice leading up to the game, yet they fail to mention that the invisible marching bands have each worked on about six different halftime shows for at least five months.
Anyway, that was an incredible game. Even if the Giants had been unable to reach the 50 yard-line on the final drive, it would have been a great game.
Sounds like you're playing well right now, Luke. Sweet. Keep it up.
If you ever make it to the Buckeye State, you'll have a free place to stay if you need it. And if this pizzeria thing works out for me, you'll never have to pay to eat there. Partly because of the things you've done for me, but mostly because I know you would do it for someone else. You're a great guy, Luke, and I hope I can help you reach your goals in some way.
Thanks Ryan. I'm rooting for you too!
