Tis the Season
What do you do when there is snow on the ground and you can't get out of town? Work out and putt in the basement. That's about as deep into golf as I've been getting lately.
I've been doing a lot of shoveling, though. Our house is halfway up the mountain, so we've been getting a lot of snow. Our driveway faces North, too, so that doesn't help. It hasn't snowed the last couple days, but there is still snow to shovel just about every time I get home. It's been windy, making me have to shovel the snow I just shoveled over and over again.
Ah, the winter.
I've also been running errands for an old golf buddy. I hadn't seen him in years, but he sent me a Thanksgiving email. He's been promoting concerts locally, so I asked him if he needed any help. Sure enough, so I've been making a little money sending emails to record label bigwigs and delivering tickets. It's really the perfect thing for me right now, as the schedule is so flexible. I can still do all the work I need to do on my game, leave town at a moments notice, and make a little money in the meantime. Not enough money, but it should get me through the next couple months.
I'm really excited about golf right now. I wish I was heading out to a tournament tomorrow. Seeing a lot of guys I know at tour school makes me want it that much more. I've been going over the year in my mind, and I feel like I'm ready to really step up next year. I really think I can shave 1-2 strokes off my scoring average just by eliminating some of the little mistakes I made this year. I wasn't making a lot of those mistakes in past years, but I feel like my "skills" are better now. I'm ready to put some aggressive swings on it, and my scores are going to come down. Expect me in contention a lot more next year.
Anyhow, you're now up to date. Let's have a good holiday season, then get back to shooting some low scores.
