Father's Day
Happy Father's Day dad.
Well, the US Open was fun to watch. I really like Tiger, Badds.com, and Angel, so I had a good time. When I caddied for my dad in the '99 PGA at Medina, my dad was registering right as Angel Cabrera and Eduardo Romero were pulling in. I had watched them both on the European Tour, so they were the first larger than life figures I saw that week. Angel is an intimidating figure without any game, but now he is a Major Champion. Big time now. Johnny Miller said he is like Seve's little brother. I think he is more like the Tony Soprano of professional golf. "Got yourself a gun......"
I guess I was playing golf this weekend too. I struggled a bit/lot yesterday. I haven't been hitting it as good as I normally do. Funny, because I've putted good all week. Switcheroo, but I think that means good things this summer. My bad ball-striking caught up with me yesterday, and I ended up with a dismal 76. I hit it better (at least more confidently) today, but could only manage a 73. Moved me up a bit, but left a lot to be desired. T54. Ehhhh.
I made some strides, though. I had a tough week on and off the course, but I think I made some improvements in my swing. I am catching the 7 am ferry tomorrow for the Pro Am in Vancouver, and I can't wait to get back to the course. I'm hoping I will be able to enjoy the week more than I did this week. Off the course issues have a way of bleeding into your fun on the course, and hopefully I'm through with that.
So goodbye from Victoria. See you on the mainland (sort of).
